Taking Flight

Exiting the juvenile detention facility, thirty birds "fly" (rock and flap) leading the way out to freedom and creating dynamic shadows on the ground. A winglike bench allows parents and staff a place to wait outside. A plaque and five birds imbedded in the path relay the words: "BEGIN," "HOPE," "COURAGE," "FLY,"and "SOAR."
